Hendrick Medical Center South Medical-Surgical Unit receives a refresh

Hendrick Medical Center South is pleased to announce the expansive upgrade to its fourth floor medical and surgical unit. The unit reopened recently after months of renovations.

“This project aims to elevate the patient experience by providing a modern, comfortable and healing environment for our patients and their loved ones,” said Judy LaFrance, chief administrative officer at Hendrick Medical Center South. “This is one of the numerous projects completed since the acquisition in October 2020. There are still additional projects that remain in progress, and even more in store for our future.”

Upgrades to the fourth floor include:

  • New flooring for patient rooms and corridors
  • New paint and wainscoting treatment in patient rooms
  • New efficient LED lighting installed

“The medical-surgical unit reopened with a new look that is quite remarkable,” said Cindy DeHoyas, Abilene Market director, medical/surgical nursing for Hendrick Health. “The freshness of the unit from floor to ceiling, with great artwork, new furniture and window treatments made the months of displacement for staff and patients worth the wait.”

Hendrick remains committed to providing high quality healthcare in an environment reflective of the skilled professionals caring for the community.

“Thank you to our dedicated staff, physicians and partners who contributed to this wonderful transformation as well as supporting the process with patience and understanding,” said LaFrance.
